I decided this would be the best topic to kick off the podcast as it really sets the foundation for self care.
Motherhood definitely throws some curve balls into our lives, but it can also cause us to feel disconnected from ourselves. It is easy to get wrapped up in the exhaustion and overwhelm that comes with motherhood.
I am here to tell you that yes, the overwhelm, mom guilt, frustration and exhaustion…they are all real and valid feelings. The best way to reconnect with yourself and manage those big feelings is self care.
Self care is more about the decisions we make than the activities we do. Deciding to Plan, Share the Load, and Ask for Help can help you stay on track with your daily self care goals.
This all may be new for you, so be patient with yourself and take it one decision at a time.
