Sjögren’s disease is an auto-immune disease also known as an “unseen disease.” Sjögren’s is characterized by inflammation, and may result from, or be triggered by, a dysregulation of the normal immune response. It can be difficult to diagnose, as its symptoms are similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis and other auto-immune diseases.
In this episode, we are discussing Sjögren’s disease and the science behind its two cardinal symptoms, dry eyes and dry mouth. We even get into lifestyle tips for those living with Sjögren’s, and different ways to avoid extra inflammation. Also, as a Registered Dental Hygienist, I am sharing oral health tips that will promote good oral health for those suffering with Sjögren’s.
So, let’s learn more about this auto-immune disease and how it affects people every day. Join me, and my guest Indi, on today’s discussion, The Complexity of Sjögren’s.
