Do you realize that you are a king and priest in God’s Kingdom? Do you know that you have been given authority there? Do you wonder what that means for you? Then join us below as we discover the beauty of walking in God-given authority, and how, while responsibility comes with it, we need not fear it!
For many of us, it can be hard to believe that we, as Believers, are meant to walk in authority, let alone as kings and priests according to the order of Melchizedek—a king and priest who interacted with Abraham, then known as Abram. Yet, through Jesus, as we will soon learn, this is possible.
“Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: ‘Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.’ …”
—Genesis 14:18-20
We too, as Believers, are made to walk in that Genesis 14 authority, not because we in ourselves have authority, but because Jesus—our King, called a priest according to the order of Melchizedek—lives inside each of us. This authority is not meant merely for our personal benefit, but for the advancement of the Kingdom and the elevation and honor of our God, who is perfect in every way!
