Description

As a society, we are facing a growing mental health crisis. Finding the right treatment for mental health conditions can often be challenging—especially for those for whom medication has not been effect and people suffering from complex post-traumatic stress and trauma. For some, traditional therapy and psychotropic medications doesn’t provide relief. Thankfully, other therapeutic options are available.

In this episode, I talk with therapist Allie Runkel, LPCC, about ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and its effectiveness in treating mental health conditions.

Allie is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a private practice in Costa Mesa, CA. She is a trained ketamine assisted psychotherapy facilitator and has also utilized KAP in her own therapeutic journey. In our conversation, we talk about what ketamine is, how it’s used in a therapeutic setting and who’s the ideal patient for ketamine therapy.
