Using Sold Out Inventory on Your Online Store to Boost Sales
Did you know that by ensuring that at least 10-30% of the stocks listed on your online store are "sold out", you can boost e-commerce sales by approx ~30%
This insight is based on an experiment carried out in April 2021, which showed that online shoppers perceive higher quality of products listed on an online store if they see that a few other products (possibly color options) are sold out and not available.
However, the impact is an inverted U. So, if more than 30% of the products listed on the site are sold out, it impacts sales negatively.
