Description

Having the faith and freedom to do something you love every day also comes with sacrifice and challenges. But, even when you love what you do, you can’t forget who you are without your work.

Leena Al Olaimy is a Dalai Lama Fellow, a Fulbright Scholar and Wall Street Journal Woman of Note. As the co-founder and managing director of 3BL Associates, she advises organizations on people and planet-related issues, like peace, climate change, and inclusive economic growth. Leena is also the author of Compassionate Counterterrorism: The Power of Inclusion in Fighting Fundamentalism, which provides a global perspective on how to counter terrorism non-violently, based on her unique perspective from traveling the world as a Muslim woman of Bahraini origin. Leena has won many awards, gave a TedX talk on the antidote to our global crisis of values, has worked alongside key business and government influencers, and has even chaired a round table on empowering communities for positive change with Prince Charles of Wales.

Reading Leena’s credentials and accomplishments, it’s easy to see why the topic of “success” was on our list of things to discuss. Of course, with any success, there are also obstacles, highs, and lows, so we set out to learn more about these parts of her story that aren’t always so obvious.
