Do you often get stuck inside all day? Work, cleaning, helping with the kids homework, the list goes on. Patty's guest today knows that taking even a short time outside every day, has huge benefits. Amy Bushatz believed this so much that she and her family moved to Alaska, sight-unseen to give them a chance to connect with the outdoors like they never had before. First - NO you do NOT need to move to Alaska or even out of the city. Amy makes it simple. Her motto is 'nature is wherever you are.' Whether its in the city or in a subdivision or out in the forest. She encourages everyone to take advantage of this nearby nature, in whatever form that might be for you.
Daily outside time is like beginning any other activity, so schedule it, make it work for your daily life. It can be as little as 15 to 20 minutes a day. Creating this new habit could be the healthiest thing you ever do for your body and mind. Amy gives tips on how to keep it up, and more importantly how this habit has made such a huge improvement in her, and her family’s well-being.
