So many of us think that we are being kind, good people by helping others with whatever needs they might have. But when does it cross the line of being detrimental to our own wellbeing? Today’s guest, Janice Burt, aka Spanish Janice, is a Spanish interpreter, voiceover artist, yoga instructor, author and inspirational speaker, and is here to give you the knowledge and insight of how to recognize the issue of people-pleasing, and more importantly, how to break away from it, to become the person you are meant to be without blaming others or yourself. Janice also talks about how to break the people-pleasing cycle with our children, and the answer may surprise you.
Patty and Janice talk about the variety of accomplishments that Janice has taken on to push herself out of her comfort zone. From stand up comedy to, marathon running, to a bodybuilding competition, she describes how stretching these boundaries allowed her to overcome her fears, find her true value, experience inner strength and meaning of herself, which then allowed her to free herself from the expectations of others.
This episode is about becoming free by truly caring about yourself, healing, learning to forgive, cultivating personal growth, and showing up for ourselves in the ways that better our own lives. This is an incredibly deep and poignant episode to start off the new year and to help you to make it the best, most transformative year yet.
