Dr. Birhanzel currently serves as the Harrison School District 2 Superintendent and has been recognized for her extraordinary leadership, from being named one of five recipients for Colorado Springs's Diversity Leader of the Year to also (just a week ago) named the state of Colorado's Superintendent of the Year.
In the episode, we dig into her work as a super and the belief she carries and acts on as the leader of one of the most racially and socio-economically diverse districts in the state of Colorado. We talk about what brought her to education and D2 and, how she has led through the pandemic.
Dr. Birhanzel has dedicated her life to educational equity and shows up time and time again for a community she believes, whole-heartedly, deserves EVERY opportunity our neighboring districts are provided.
