Maybe the name David Franklin isn't one you know well however if you are an educator, especially an administrator, you likely know the Facebook group called, "The Principal's Desk", which was founded by, you guessed it, Dr. David Franklin who is this week's Teacher ReNEWed podcast guest.
It was amazing to sit down and talk to David about his journey in education (and the journey before is pretty noteworthy as well- which we dig into) and what compelled him to create the Principal's Desk which now has over 200k members.
David is an award winning school administrator, education professor, curriculum designer, and presenter. He earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from California State University, East Bay, a Master’s Degree in Education Technology from National University, and holds a B.A. in Music from the University of California, San Diego.
