"For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and one by a free woman. But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise" (Galatians 4:22-23).
Sarah had received the promise that she would bear a son. Even in her old age. But she was free in her promise. Promises aren't made to slaves. Promises are made to free people.
Freedom is not without responsibility. Freedom understands the responsibility. Freedom embraces responsibility.
The Christian is free in regards to the Law. Not that the Christian cannot sin. But the Christian has the promise of forgiveness. But forgiveness also has the responsibility to live the life of forgiveness. Paul continues this idea throughout the rest of this chapter. Stay tuned to hear more. Amen.
