You will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household,
which is the Church of the living God,
the pillar and foundation of the truth.
(1 Timothy 3:15)
Paul's instructions to Timothy are to show how everyone ought to behave in God's household. Why should we behave in God's household? Because we are God's children. Everyone in the family needs to know the rules. The rules of the Church of the living God are the Law and Gospel handed down to us by the Apostles and prophets. These form the pillar and foundation of the Truth. The Truth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the world.
We conduct ourselves as obedient children of our heavenly Father. As we continue our series through the Pastoral Epistles, we'll see these instructions ever more clearly. Keep yourselves immersed in God's Word as He gives it to you through me each weekday morning. It will do well for your soul. Amen.
