Description

''To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away (Matthew 25:15).''

Jesus gives each person gifts of faith according to their own ability. And these gifts differ from person to person. St. Paul writes, "Christ chose some of us to be apostles, prophets, missionaries, pastors, and teachers, so that His people would learn to serve and His body would grow strong" (Ephesians 4:11-12 CEV).

Not everyone can be a pastor. Not everyone can be a missionary. But everyone can be a gifted Christian. Everyone can gladly receive the gifts that Jesus offers us so that we might help the rest of the Church grow. Each gift is given with respect to the recipient. If you ever wander about the worth of your Christian gifts, just remember the holy One who knows exactly what you need when you need it. He will keep you and help you nourish His gifts to you. Amen.
