God's Kingdom is not a kingdom of this world. God's Kingdom is a proclamation of the Gospel. It is the Church in its purest form. The one holy, catholic and apostolic Church we confess in the creeds. This kingdom does not come with a metal sword. It comes with the sword of the Spirit, God's Word (Ephesians 6:17).
This vocal sword proclaims Jesus' "eternal righteous reign" on earth as it is in Heaven. God reigns over all the earth for the sake of His Church (Romans 8:28). He enlightens Christians with His gifts that allow us to work in the world for the spreading and advancement of God's eternal, gracious kingdom.
The sword of the Spirit brings us new life. It breaks Satan's power over our sinful nature. Its proclamation fuels Satan's rage, as he is constantly reminded of his defeat at Jesus' tomb. Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. This Spirit continues to preserve the Church against every satanic attack (Matthew 16:18).
Through the Holy Spirit, God enriches you so that you may be held in His arms for all eternity. Amen.
