''Jesus left the Temple and was going away, when His disciples came to point out to Him the buildings of the Temple. But He answered them, "You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down" (Matthew 24:1-2).''

Buildings don't matter to Christians. It's not the building that makes us the Church. Because '''WE'RE''' the Church, the building becomes important. We define the building. The building doesn't define us.

Around the world, church buildings are being burned down because people cannot stand the Christian message. The Christian message is so foreign to the way of the world that people try to stamp it out.

Around the world, Christians continue to confess their faith even when their church building is burning or has burned to the ground. The building isn't important. The faith in their heart is important. The Holy Spirit's work in their lives, even as they suffer persecution.

This doesn't mean that we shouldn't gather together in a building as Christians. Jesus wants us to gather together as Christians. But the building doesn't make us Christians. Faith in Jesus makes us Christians. Were all the church buildings in the world torched to the ground, Christians would still be able to praise and worship their God. God dwells within you through faith. Amen.
