What is one of the worst pieces of advice you can give your child? Playing it safe is dangerous because it creates a mindset that avoids discomfort, runs from conflict, and fears change. Nothing could be worse for a child. Everything about growing up is difficult. Relationships are hard.
School changes...
Body changes...
Friend changes...
It also stays with them well into adulthood, possibly forever, keeping them trapped in circumstances they want to escape.
