Today we’re going to discuss imaginative play, the importance of imagination and a show called Bluey which you can find on Disney Plus or YouTube. Why am I bringing this conversation to you today? Not because I think that your kids should be watching specific shows, but because I think imagination is our secret super power in life and in parenting. I know my kids are always trying to get me to play with them and I often struggle with trying to play their games. This show opened my eyes to a new way of interacting with my children that is more fun, playful, less reactive, and it gave me a whole toolbox of games to play with them. So, my youngest brother Stephen and his wife Janie are going to help us discuss the show and imaginative play in our households. Stephen is a Pulmonologist, but he goes by Doctor Dada Extraordinaire in his household. And Janie used to be a nurse but now she runs the Children’s program at their church and she goes by Mom of Many because they have also been fostering children in their house. They have 2 biological children who are 3 and 5. I would say that Bluey if probably for a younger age audience but I think that imagination is super important not only for our children but also for us. If we want to bring anything into the world that isn’t currently existing and change things, we have to use our imagination. So I hope that you like today’s conversation. I’m really excited to bring it to you.
