Proactive teacher-student interactions increase productive teaching and learning environments, reactive teacher-student interactions are an essential part of classroom behaviour management, but they can be delivered in a non-public way that does not impact on the classroom environment.  Our interactions with students should always have a focus on an outcome that will return all students to the curriculum.
