When we try to reconcile a coaching conversation against what we think should be said, or where a teacher should be, we are not truly listening, and in that moment we are taking away a teachers agency and ability to find fulfilment in their work. Coaching conversations are most successful when we meet the teacher where they are at, and do so through a solution focussed approach.
