David is rising to prominence and Saul's light is on the decline.
In the passage taught, we see David rise as he first goes from the field to the house, then from the house to the palace, then from the palace to the battlefield.
These four stages mark a significant step forward in the life of David, but they also reflect four stages we as Christian pass through toward maturity.

- Are you prepared to pay the price to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life?
