Do you struggle with a besetting sin?
Saul was tormented with the besetting sins of jealousy, anger and resentment over the person of David
This sent him into ever decreasing depths of sin and torment until the only solution that he could see was to, 'Seek, Locate, Exterminate David!'
This resolve was mollified when Saul's son, Jonathan, intervenes to defend David. Saul then relents and determines not to kill David.
Yet only for season.
It's not long before Saul is pursuing the same game plan of killing David.
