This is day 1 of our journey.

Today we will read about how it all began. In Genesis chapters 1-3, we witness the power of God as he spoke everything into existence. Seeing that His creation was very good, God continued to bless our world by instituting the concept of love, marriage, and family as he brought Adam and Eve together.

As we read on, we discover that, despite the perfection of God's creation, mankind easily falls into the trap of sin by breaking "the one rule" that God had set for them to obey. This first act of sin changed everything and caused a terminal separation between God and Humanity...a separation that could only be repaired roughly 4000 years later through the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. While the sin of Adam and Eve led to centuries of pain, suffering, and death...chapter 3 also offers us hope: God gives a promise that the ultimate defeat of the evil one is coming. Even here, at the beginning of all things, God revealed that He had a plan to redeem his creation to Himself. Join me in worshipping our Creator today as we read Genesis chapters 1-3.
