Day 2 of the podcast, reading Genesis 4-6 NET, read along at:

This is day 2 of our journey.
Today we see the tragic consequences of sin as it begins to spread through God's perfect creation. The passage begins with 2 brothers offering a sacrifice to God with very different intentions.
God's response is one that we will see countless times through our journey: Despite the words or deeds that we outwardly show to the world, God always looks within to see our hearts and our true intentions. We witness the hearts of two very different men and watch as the sin of jealousy leads to murder. Reading on, we come to my favorite chapter in the Bible! Genesis 5 introduces ten generations of men over 1600 years as Mankind begins fulfilling God's call to fill the earth. Unfortunately, we also find that the earth is filling with violence and sin. Seeing his creation tainted by such depravity, God regrets having made man and vows to destroy the earth. But, one man, Noah, is faithful in God’s eyes and is given a command that will save him and ultimately the whole of creation. Join me in Genesis 4-6 and see a God who is long-suffering, just, and, in the midst of our sin, still seeks to redeem His creation to Himself.
