This is day 15 of our journey.

Two years have past since the previous passage. Despite his faithfulness, Joseph still remains in prison and is holding on to the hope that the Pharaoh's cupbearer would remember him.  Finally, Pharaoh has a dream that no one can interpret and God provides an opportunity for Joseph to sit before the most powerful ruler of the era! By God's power, Joseph is able to interpret the dream and tells Pharaoh all that will happen over then next 14 years.  Impressed with his wisdom, Pharaoh appoints Joseph as his second in command, and "God's man" begins to rule over the entire nation.  After 7 years, as God predicted, a severe famine hits the entire known world and, due to the Lord's provision through Joseph, Egypt is the only nation that has food during the calamity.  People come to Joseph from every neighboring land to buy food from Egypt's plentiful stores...to his surprise, this even includes his own brothers (a scene he once witnessed in his dreams as a boy)!  After years apart, Joseph's brothers don't recognise the boy they once sold into slavery when they come face to face with him as an adult.  Because of their past treachery, Joseph doesn't fully trust his brothers and devises a test to prove whether or not they have changed.

Join me in Genesis 41-42 as God provides for His people and fulfills His promises.
