This is day 264 of our journey.

In Micah 5, Micah prophesies of the coming King who will come out of Bethlehem and will rule over Israel.  Micah 6 speaks against the rituals that Israel performs.  This is not what God is calling for; he wants justice, faithfulness, and obedience instead of empty ceremonies.  Micah 7 reiterates that Israel must endure punishment for their sin, but promises that, once God's anger has been endured, he will defend the cause of Israel once more and lead them into the light of his deliverance.

Join me in Micah 5-7 live justly and experience the deliverance of the Lord!

Key verses:

Micah 5:2

As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah – from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.

Micah 6:8

He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the Lord really wants from you: He wants you to carry out justice, to love faithfulness, and to live obediently before your God.

Micah 7:9

I must endure the Lord’s fury, for I have sinned against him. But then he will defend my cause, and accomplish justice on my behalf. He will lead me out into the light; I will witness his deliverance.
