This is day 280 of our journey.

In Matthew 25, we read Jesus' final teaching before his death.  He tells his disciples (and ultimately, modern followers of Christ as well) to be prepared and to watch faithfully for his return.  He tells us that while we wait we are to use the gifts he has given us to further his kingdom.  And he tells us that we will be rewarded for the compassion we show to those who are weak and needy around us.  In Matthew 26, the plot to have Jesus arrested moves forward; Judas agrees to betray Jesus for 30 pieces of silver! In the meantime, Jesus eats the Passover meal with his disciples for the last time and again warns them of his coming death and the persecution that will come on them.  Then, Jesus prays to God, submitting his will to the will of the Father.  Matthew 26 ends with the arrest, trial, and condemnation of Jesus.

Join me in Matthew 25-26 wait faithfully for the return of the King!
