This is day 292 of our journey.

As Jesus gains popularity, he also gains the attention of the religious leaders of the day.  Jesus does not try to avoid or appease them, but rather, he confronts their corruption.  One of the main issues that the leaders enforced most vigorously on the people was the keeping of the Sabbath.  Jesus confronts their beliefs by healing on the Sabbath and teaching that the Sabbath, while an established day of rest, is more importantly a day to glorify God and faithfully do his will.  After confronting them, Jesus goes out to a private place to pray throughout the night.  His ministry continues as he heals the sick, raises the dead, and teaches the people.  All of these are signs to justify that he truly is the Christ.

Join me in Luke 6-7 and acknowledge the Lordship of Christ.

Key verses:

Luke 6:12

Now it was during this time that Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he spent all night in prayer to God.

Luke 7:22

So he answered them, “Go tell John what you have seen and heard: The blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news proclaimed to them.
