Happy June!
Here’s a list of what I’m reading this month. Check out the full episode to hear brief commentary on each, as well as a few choice excerpts!
Artemis, by Andy Weir. A fun, fluffy heist novel set on the moon.
Altogether You, by Jenna Riemersma. A Protestant rendering of the Internal Family Systems model of counseling
Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde. Dorian is young, rich, beautiful, and a hedonist. Thankfully, he has a gorgeous portrait of himself to absorb the weight of his sins, and do his aging for him.
The Passage, by Justin Cronin. The world falls prey to vampires, but one girl from nowhere may be the key to humanity’s survival.
Letters from the Desert, by Saints Barsanuphius and John. Practical wisdom on Christian living from an ancient monastic perspective.
The Boy, The Books, and The Sword, by Moses Bernabe. Hey, wait - that’s me! Yes, I shared a brief snippet of a long short story(or short novella) that is nearing completion.
Watch for more in-depth discussions on Dorian Gray and The Passage on the Word and Journey podcast. Thanks for listening!
