Description

In our fast-paced, constantly-connected lives, it can be all too easy to forget to simply be present. Our minds are always racing, jumping from one task to the next or dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Mindfulness is a state of being present in the moment, without judgment. It is about observing our thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them. And it is a skill that we can all learn, no matter how busy our lives may be. One of the simplest and most effective ways to cultivate mindfulness is to focus on our breath. When we pay attention to our breathing, we anchor ourselves in the present moment and quiet the mind. Just a few minutes of focused breathing each day can help us to feel calmer and more centered. In addition, research has shown that mindfulness can have a positive impact on our physical and mental health. So next time you are feeling stressed or scattered, try taking a few deep breaths and simply focus on being in the moment.
