Description

What could be worse for the Olympic movement than the disastrous St. Louis Games? How about an actual natural disaster? In 1906, the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius disrupted the plans for the 1908 Olympiad to be hosted in Rome. From flag protests to the addition of figure skating, London 1908 was truly one for the books.
