Is Jesus God or man? Should I follow Jesus or should I follow God? Or are there three gods – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit? These are all questions about the Trinity. If you were asked these questions, would you know how to answer them? What does it mean that God is Trinity – three persons, but one God?
Introduction: “Is Jesus God?”
1. The Son is the only way to the Father (1-6)
a. Jesus is divine (1-4)
b. Jesus is the only way to the Father (5-6)
2. The Son is the only way to know the Father (7-11)
a. The Son perfectly reveals the Father
b. The Father is glorified in the Son
3. The Father and the Son send the Spirit to dwell in us (15-26)
a. The Spirit is divine and personal (15-17, 26)
b. The Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son (15, 26, 16:7)
c. By the Spirit, the Father and the Son dwell in us (18-20, 23)
4. What we have learnt
a. Three persons but one God
b. Three persons with different roles
c. Do you believe in this Triune God?
