It is an uncomfortable truth that faithful proclamation of the gospel frequently results in suffering. As we proclaim Jesus as the only Lord and Saviour, it is inevitable that we face rejection, opposition, and persecution. Yet, at the same time suffering and opposition often fuel gospel growth. In Acts 13:44-14:7, we see Paul suffering as he sought to bring the light of salvation to the nations, but he did not give up. We’re forced to consider our own lives. Are we willing to face rejection as we share our faith? Or will we prize our comfort that we retreat into a Christian corner and stay silent?
This sermon was preached at Cross & Crown, Penang on 21st April 2024.
