We think long and hard over the names of our children. We want to choose a name that accurately reflects who we want them to grow up to be. But Jesus’ name is extra special. Because not only does his name have profound meaning, “God saves”, his name was given by God himself. Because Jesus was no ordinary child. He was God in human flesh, come to save us. In a world where there are so many troubles nothing could bring great joy than to know Jesus came to save us from the greatest problem of all: our sin.
