If you’re sick, its’ crucial that you go to the doctor. You need to find out what is wrong, so that you can get the right treatment and get better. So also, we need to understand the seriousness of sin, so that we look for the right solution in Jesus.

But we fail to rule ourselves, or society, or the world.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every
one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us
