She was a Pastor in the United Methodist Church and her wife was the Bishop. She had to wait until her wife retired to be able to express herself fully as her most authentic self. We just met and talking to her was so familiar. It was a powerful reminder of what is at stake for gender variant humans to be able to just be ourselves and how much we have to sacrifice for our safety and the safety and protection of our families.
