After over a month since the last deep dive due to some technical issues, Gaius and Owen are back with Owen’s pick, Good Time. Directed by Josh and Benny Safdie (The Safdie Brothers) and written by Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, the film stars Robert Pattinson as a small-time criminal who tries to free his developmentally-disabled brother from police custody, while attempting to avoid his own arrest. The duo get into Robert Pattinson’s performance, which earned him raves from critics, the filming style of the Safide Brothers, and the film is able to build up a level of anxiety through a visceral visual style that is just as much a character as the performers in the film.
