It's not your fault - you didn't know. Yep - that is a fave statement of mine when I help clients start to understand how macros and portion sizes work. Why? You were never taught! I think this kinda' thing should be taught in school - learning what food have what value and how to build a sound plate from a specific place. That is why I love a food scale in the beginning - it really helps you know what a true portion size is. From there we can start to eye ball (hello chipotle burrito beans and rice! hello sushi rolls!) to then make empowered guessimates when we are out living our lives. I want to help you see where some of the trip ups happen for real clients - and entry errors and under estimating portions are right at the top!
