School is almost out, and the ladies can’t wait! Well, not literal school. Season 1, our freshman season, is almost complete but with all the work they have put in, it felt like school. Kim and Jay take some time on this fine Sunday to talk about school and the education system. Both have been in many school settings, so they are ready to talk about their experiences. Jay is very open about her educational path not being the easiest. She talks about the negative side when it comes to socializing with peers and the hunger she had to further her education. It was rough at times, but she was able to find the silver lining and understand how it helped her grow as a person. She also makes the statement that school doesn't prepare us for the real word, and Kim is in complete agreeable. Education is more than just school. People tend to forget that, but these ladies are here to remind everyone. They look at the different layers to the idea that “education is important.” The Soul Sisters agree that having an education is important, but there are so many other ways to advance in life. Kim goes on to mention that even though she is proud of her degree, a trade would’ve been a better option. Shout out to the individuals that decided to go to trade school! Unschooling or homeschooling? The ladies also talk about the different alternatives that are available. Jay talks about considering homeschooling for her daughter, while Kim is a little hesitant. Jay is more concerned about the experience, while Kim is thinking about the social aspect of it. As always, they are able to have an interesting conversation about their differences.
