The Straschnitzki family is being resilient because they don’t stay down when the worst happens.
Airdrie’s Ryan Straschnitzki and his parents, Michelle and Tom share insights into their lives in the weeks and months after tragedy struck the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team when the team’s bus was involved in a crash with a semi truck, which killed 16 people and injured 13 others, including Ryan.
Ryan is paralyzed from the chest down, but he has been a beacon of hope in a hard time that unified the nation and the global hockey community.
In this episode, we also hear from family friend TJ Stewart and boxing coach Cody Thompson.
You can connect with Ryan on Twitter or Instagram with the handle @rstraz_. Search out the #StrazStrong for the Facebook, visit http://strazstrong.com to support the family and get one of the symbolic black hats with Ryan’s number 10 and #strazstrong embroidered in the Broncos’ green and gold. To donate cash, labour or furniture to their renovation, email TJ Stewart at strazhouse616@gmail.com.
