The judge in Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex-trafficking trial on Tuesday told lawyers that deliberations could be held this weekend, warning that the surge in Covid-19 cases could derail the trial if a juror fell ill before a verdict were reached.
"We now face a high and escalating risk that jurors and trial participants may need to quarantine", Judge Nathan said "disrupting trial, putting at risk our ability to complete this trial."
