Janeene Mainor is a Principal of six years at Springwoods Elementary in Prince William County Schools. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Janeene has completed studies at James Madison University, Old Dominion University, and The University of Virginia. She began her 23 years in education teaching 3rd grade and Kindergarten in Chesapeake Public Schools, After a decade, of working across the city in diverse school settings, she relocated to Northern Virginia continuing her career in Alexandria City Schools, where she almost immediately entered Administration as an Assistant Principal serving two Title One schools over 7 years. After marriage and the birth of her daughter, she moved to Lake Ridge, Virginia, to begin her first principalship in Prince William County Schools at Springwoods Elementary, where “It’s All Good in The Woods!” Her passions include building a strong school culture that will outlast her tenure, learning about her students’ backgrounds, lives, and diverse cultures, and making the physical learning and gathering spaces for staff and students inspiring, relevant and comfortable. When not working, Janeene enjoys reading audio, hardcover, and digital books-several titles at the same time, live music, fellowship with family and friends, laughing often and out loud, and not being on social media.
