Aswin Bharadwaj of Lensmen Reviews gave the film a positive review and stated "Ashraf Hamza’s Bheemante Vazhi is an entertainer with different layers. It achieves an emotional angle through the characters. And there is this satiric angle we feel through the premise. And the combination of these two perspectives makes it an engaging comedy that stays with you." In their review for Cinema Express, Sajin Shrijith described the film as a "lighthearted drama elevated by some clever moments" and states that "the film makes up for whatever shortcomings it has in the few highs accompanying the second and third acts." Principal photography of the film began in December 2020 at Kuttipuram, Malappuram district, following COVID-19 protocols.
