Normalizing is both an easy and highly effective self-coaching practice. Normalizing is akin to validating. This is different from condoning. Normalizing is a way to help combat self-judgement and all of the stories that come up to make meaning of difficult emotions. Often when you feel "bad", your brain will make it mean that things have gone wrong, leading to further anxieties. When you practice normalizing your experience, shame will also subside. Emotional resilience is the process of re-centerimg after stress or overwhelm, and normalizing is one of the most important steps to get there.
