It is Friday morning. Jesus will die on the cross this afternoon. In Mark 15:1-15 Jesus stands before the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate. Pilate finds no guilt in Jesus, but the people want Him dead. Pilate decides to play politics. He lets a murderer go and sentences Jesus to death on a cross. In this passage Jesus’ sufferings increase. He will soon breathe his last, experiencing the full wrath of God against the sin of man.
