Ultra Q is a tokusatsu science fiction show from 1966 created by Tsuburaya Productions. Originally conceived as a show in the model of The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits but retooled to focus more on giant monsters. Toho was heavily invested in Tsuburaya Productions and so a lot of props from Godzilla and other tokusatsu movies wound up reused for the show. Ultra Q ran for 28 episodes and was very successful but the production was further retooled and became the first Ultraman series.
For this season of Grain of Salt Ben and Hank are going to dig into this show 4 episodes at a time.
This week they cover episodes 1-4: Defeat Gomess!, Goro and Goroh, The Gift From Space, and Mammoth Flower.
