Meet Angela Chu, principal designer and founder of design company, Intent Designs. Angela is an ex-lawyer who ran cross-border transactions for over a decade before pursuing her passion, trading in the suit for a fan deck and tile samples.

Angela recently launched her design company, Intent Designs after years of nudging by her extremely supportive partner. Based in Toronto, she loves creating spaces where people reconnect and is passionate about delivering a stress-free design experience by being crazy organized and using collaborative tracking tools. With one foot still in the corporate world, the days (and nights!) are hectic but she tries to focus on the small joys that carry her through -- like listening to her 3-year-old sing along to Kid Cudi tracks in the car.

1. Like many who picked this hobby up during Covid, I'm a reformed-black-thumb-turned-proud-plant-mom.
2. Six years ago, my partner and I quit our jobs and travelled around the world for six months.
3. I'm a huge indie music fan -- most of my youth was lost to the dive bars of downtown Toronto.
4. After coveting curly hair my whole life (and years of some ill-advised perms), we're now raising a toddler with a wild curly mane -- my dream come true!
5. I LOVE wrapping presents -- I love the precision required and getting to create something fun and eye-catching.
