Marcia Wickham discusses her experience as a child incest victim by her father, the denial of her experience by family members - and later by the church her father joined - and the resulting psychological trauma she struggled with for years which ultimately led to a suicide attempt. Through intensive therapy Marcia has worked through a process of recovery and now seeks to empower sexual abuse victims, and those aware of such abuse , to speak out in effort to bring awareness to this insidious crime against children as well as justice to the perpetrators. Marcia also seeks to educate religious communities about the harm suffered by victims when the church absolves the abuser of his or her destructive, criminal behavior under the absolution one receives in the Christian doctrine when one "accepts Jesus Christ" as their "Savior".
