Microlearning is the more engaging, less time-consuming, and cheaper-to-produce sibling of regular training. It involves stripping down a skill or idea to its most essential parts, and delivering them one at a time.
People begin to forget information between 20 minutes and 24 hours after learning it. We are better able to recall information and concepts if we learn them in multiple, spread-out sessions. We can leverage this effect by using spaced repetition to slowly learn almost anything.
We can use Microlearning and the Spacing Effect to deliver short bursts of learning spaced out regularly to maximize learning retention and minimize cost and development time.
