In continuation of honoring Black History Month, Sarah is joined by special guest, Gabby Wilkinson. Gabby Wilkinson is a seminary student who has been working in ministry since 2014. At Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, Gabby is studying the intersectionality of mental illness and Christianity through the lens of church trauma and is working to make this area of focus the driving force of her vocation. She recently started a brand that was birthed out of this study called “Dear God, I’m Sad.” The mission of “Dear God, I’m Sad” is to craft a healthier & more holistic relationship between mental illness & Christianity through reflection, investigation, & exploration with the hopes of destigmatizing mental illness in faith spaces & promoting compassionate responses from faith leaders. You can listen to the “Dear God, I’m Sad” podcast everywhere you stream podcasts & read about “Dear God, I’m Sad” on Gabby’s website, gabriellemwilkinson.com. Join these ladies as they talk about bridging the gap between the intersection of faith and mental health, how to experience healing from church hurt, the importance of cultivating a personal relationship with Christ, and steps that the church communities can take in learning more about mental health and treating others with compassion.
