Description

On August 8, 2025 the New England Patriots unveiled a 12 foot bronze statue of Tom Brady. At the ceremony, Patriot's CEO Robert Kraft said,

"There's a saying, 'People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But they will never forget how you made them feel.' For two decades, Tom Brady made the Patriots feel invincible,"

Do events like this ever make you wonder, "How are people going to remember me?" or "Will anyone remember me after I am gone?"

This week at CrossWalk Church, we’re wrapping up part three of our study in Genesis with the account of the Tower of Babel. In Genesis 11, the people wrestle with the same desire to be remembered. They said,

"Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves;" Genesis 11:4, NIV

A wise man named Solomon captured the same sentiment in Ecclesiastes 3:11. He wrote, "He (God) has also set eternity in the human heart."

We all want to be remembered—and, in some way, to keep our memory alive.

Let's explore these questions together— the answers might surprise you.

The sermon entitled "The Tower of Babel" was preached by Pastor Dan Solofra at CrossWalk Church, in part of the “Genesis: the birth of God's people" message series.
